We accept applications for all positions year round.  We also conduct "working interviews", where we  pay you to work a few shifts so  that both you, as the prospective employee,  and we,  as the employer, have the  opportunity to judge whether there is a good employment match before making a committment. Shop Assistant  - Permanent position -
2 - 5 shifts per week. Work shifts presently available  are between  7:00 am and 8:00 pm.  Beginning wage $9.00 per hour. Wage review and a full range of benefits following 3 month probationary period.

Duties: To meet a high standard of  customer service and cleanliness in a busy, demanding specialty  food  store.  Shop assistants must be multi tasked, able to move from one station to another with equal aptitude and efficiency.  Primary stations are Checkout, Deli and Coffee bar.  

Before submitting application, prospective employees  are advised to visit our store at various  times of the day to observe existing staff at their work.   Those granted an interview will be expected  to comment  in detail on their observations.

Baker - Permanent Position

Only professionally trained bakers  will be considered for this position.  Wages negotiable according to qualifications and references. Wage review and a full range of benefits following 3 month probationary period.
Hours 5 am - 1 pm and 1 pm - 7 pm.  Bakery operates seven days a week. 

Baker’s Helper - Permanent Position

2 or 4 days a week, depending on applicant's availability. Hours 5 am - 1 pm. and 1 pm - 9 pm.  
Beginning wage $9.00 per hour, then  negotiable, depending on aptitude and performance appraisals. Wage review and a full range of benefits following 3 month probationary period. Prior experience in commercial kitchen or bakery an asset, but will train suitable candidate. Applicant must be a fast learner, highly motivated and keenly interested in the art of baking. Duties include carrying baked goods to the store from second floor bakery, carrying items from the store to bakery, maintaining cleanliness of work area, washing dishes and equipment and doing simple baking tasks under the direction of bakers.

Kitchen  Helper - Permanent Position

2 - 5 days a week.  Hours 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.  Beginnning wage $9.00 per hour, then negotiable depending on aptitude and performance appraisals. Wage review and a full range of benefits following 3 month probationary period. Must be well organized with the ability to work quickly and efficiently.  We will train.  Duties include preparing sandwiches, soups, salads and other standard items under the direction of a supervisor.
